About Me
I grew up in a small farm town in Indiana with a strong work ethic and an understanding that how you treat people matters. After going to Space Camp as a kid I dreamed of working at NASA, but ended up joining the Marine Corps instead. As a Marine I took an oath to defend the Constitution. Upholding that oath has been the focus of my adult life and is a critical component of my work as a criminal defense attorney.
Prior to going into private practice, I served as an Assistant Public Defender where I worked cases ranging from misdemeanors to high-level felonies, with two years specializing in DWI defense. Every client's situation is different and every case needs to be investigated no matter how open and shut it appears. I am always ready to take a case to trial, but that is not always the best option for clients. That is why I fought to get a social worker in adult criminal court and a mental health diversion program in Wake County. My clients can expect the same thoroughness and intensity to be applied to their situation.
